Re: Reappearing gall bladder pain after flush.

I am very sorry that I didn't respond sooner to you message but I am finding it difficult at the moment to find enough spare time.

I wish I could wave a magic wand to cure you and I find it very difficult to offer anymore practical help. However, I am glad that you have found some respite from the pain by self examination.

There is another possibility that you stopped a spasm in the Sphincter of Oddi, which is the muscular valve by the neck of the pancreas where the pancreatic and common bile duct join. This muscle appears to cramp in some circumstances, a very small stone or some sludge, as a reaction to eating a food or additive that you are "sensitive" to, a condition called sphincter dysfunction, or even a parasite. There is also the possibility of a pyloric dysfunction condition. We don't know because we can't see inside ourselves and the doctors use diagnostic apparatus that doesn't always give clear information.

The fact is that your gallbladder and liver may be in good-order and it would be a shame, although definitely not the end of the world if you had it removed. If the pain affects the right hand side, right sholder and the back between the shoulder blades it is a good bet that its gallbladder but if the pain is more central midway between the ribcage and navel and more symmetrical left and right it may be something else.
