Re: Is this any sort of progress?

His parents are involved because he lives very very close to them. I don't know how much help they're going to be. I don't know how the problem would be with them. Yes, it seems like they were a little lax with raising him and he's a bit used to getting his way as he is an only child. Not sure if any of that plays into anything. His dad did have a drinking problem until he was 29.

He brought up AA by himself but he's not that thrilled about the meetings. He said he would prefer to talk to someone else. I'm not sure that's a great sign.

He thinks he can stop himself. He doesn't get sick if he doesn't drink or anything like that. I'm not convinced.

No, he is not going to be doing his ex. Honestly, I don't find your post helpful. I'm doing the best I can with who I am at this point.

I think the break is a good idea. Problem now lies with me-I am absolutely terrible at coping with a break or breakup. Bigger problem is that he lives around the corner from me, a 60 second walk and it's just going to make it hell. Please don't lecture me on how this shouldn't matter or be a factor in anything. It obviously does matter or it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm also dealing with adrenal exhaustion. I don't handle stress well, I don't know how to cope. I don't know why this is all happening at once, why this is happening to me. It's hell. This is the worst time of my life.
