Re: There's only one correct decision...

I agree with MtnnnDewww
and are you the first girlfriend to go to his parents with a problem? Don't you think that if his parents are really as supportive as you say they are, then they would have tried to do something about it already? They probably already have. THey've probably even been trying to deal with worse problems for the last twenty some-odd years.
And he seems very dependent on his parents if this is even going on. I know several people who cut the umbilical cord by 20 at least. If my boyfriend went to my mother with a problem about me or vice versa...that would just be extremely odd and I'm sure my mother would be extremely confused.
So there's another sign. He's immaturely dependent and he's making you the same way. I mean hell, how many people go to their lover's parents' house after 5 months to say "your son is an alcoholic and accidentally called me by another girl's name in a casual conversation while wasted"?????????

Surely he drinks for a reason, like most, and unless you rid him of that, he's not going to stop. AA isn't going to help in that area any. All AA does is say that he has an illness that will never fully be cured and he has the right to relapse and let people take pity on him. AA is a bunch of crap. Sorry but I would never recommend AA to any of my patients. I would much quicker suggest medication before AA and I'm extremely polar ended to counseling in the struggle of psychology vs. psychiatry so that doesn't say much about AA.
