One of the authors raises your question because there is a rendering of a wild boar in a cave painting (same time) that is perfectly accurate. Dobson draws attention to thinning pubic hair, not exactly a symbol of fertility. And there is some mention of inverted nipples.

In your Women's Studies classes, did they ever explore whether primitive "art" was supposed to depict or idealize? Or some other alternative? Like (moral warnings), e.g., Victorian paintings of pregnant girls being thown out of their homes.
