Very interesting stuff. I am glad that we experience menopause! I think that the high rates of breast disease and cancer can be directly correlated to our collective malnutrition and bombardment with chemicals, etc...

The thing that rankled me about the other posters statement was that menstruation is "toxic". That is a misogynistic, historically held belief that serves to oppress women. And that we should agree with that belief in any way is to me, a denial of our very selves, our femininity.
There is also stuff in the Old Testament about a woman being "unclean" during her menses.
By the way, you are very lucky to live in Japan! Japanese women have much lower rates of osteoporosis, for one. In their traditional diet they consume virtually no dairy. Eat your Miso!
