Currency has been around a lot longer than popes, religion, or the masons. If we didn't use currency, we'd go back to the bartering system and I don't really think that's an option.
The US is a far cry from anarchy, although I think some people would like that. I've seen countries where anarchy rules, and there is nothing good, glorious, or pure about it. The only way you'll see anarchy is if you take basic resources away from people, like: food shortages, water shortages, power shortage, gas shortage. Maybe eventually, but not imminent. I worry about water more than anything.
The next 4 years will be a rebuilding process. I think Obama will get elected and will do a great job, through a very difficult time.
>>Dr. John R. Christopher profitized of terribale things to come in 50 years, I would say we are hitting his 50 year mark real soon!
Gloom and doom! Well, things will always EVENTUALLY get bad, that's not much of a prediction. In truth, I've lead a pretty easy and good life compared to my forefathers. I never had to fight in any war (my grandfathers brothers both died in WW1), I've never felt famine, I've never had my home destroyed by flood, fire, or war. So I consider myself lucky. We're live in a prissy world, things could get infinitely worse, and chances are they will, eventually.
The new gold is water btw. And living in a place that isn't affected by all the natural disasters we will start to see in the next 20 years.
