Re: Bowel problems with children

My son has encopresis (soiling) which began with constipation last summer. He has been on miralax for 7 months now, and doing quite well (only an occasional accident). Every time we go to wean him from the miralax, his soiling accidents increase. On the miralax, his stools are on the firm side and I question whether he will ever be able to get off of the miralax without becoming constipated again. Anybody out there have any experience with miralax and weaning without resultant constipation? Thanks!!
