My sister has a non-profit organization to help children with cranial work. She has been working with a Dr. in Dallas - Dr. Speece - who practices cranial osteopathy, that has literally brought children out of autism on his table. His treatment has to do with "stuck" cranial plates. What I've been told is that the cranial plates have to move with the interstitial fluid (called spinal fluid when in the spine) that moves through the spine into the dura-nater (the spongy covering of the brain, under the plates). The fluid passes through the dura-mater (think that's the spelling) to feed the brain. If any of the cranial plates are 'stuck' - not moving - then that part of the brain does not get fed. There are children that after just a few treatments are now in regular classrooms in school - the treatment is amazing. To my understanding, there are many different reasons for autism, but this is a treatment that does not get much attention, that if there is a 'stuck' plate, makes all the difference in the world.
