Toxins in fat cells

I have read in various places and heard it said on this forum that toxins are stored in fat cells. I believe such things as DDT and PCBs are stored in fat cells. Furtermore, on a fast, these cells are released into the body which causes detox symptoms such as headache, nausea etc, and healing crises.

On earlier fasts I suffered from a few of these, but not this current fast.

Anyway a question, are the toxins released from only the fat cells that are metabolized during a fast, or are other fat cells that are not metabolized also get detoxed?

If only the cells metabolized release their toxins, then presumably there may be a lot more toxic cells within me that are due to release their payload as I shed more fat, regardless of how well I have eaten over the last year?
