A young family, including a newborn, and a child about to become an unwed mother herself.

I asked my wife were she in this position, would she accept the VP nomination? She said 'No!'

Sometimes you have to put your family before the nomination.

And look, Palin is still out there trying to get every bit of the spotlight she still can. She's out to get whatever she can from this. I'm at a complete loss as to why anyone should pity her. She's getting what she wanted. Is that a new reason for pity in this country of ours? I think our pity is very much mislaid...
