Hi...definitely affects blood sugar. Even the mirena manufacturer data (for doctors) says to not be given to diabetics. However, you do not have to be diabetic to have problems with blood Sugar with the mirena. I never had any anxiety, blood Sugar issues (hypoglycemia), insomnia, weight gain in abdomen, etc. all the problems I got with the mirena I never had before in my life...so definitely can cause problems. Hormones control blood Sugar (progesterone levels affect cortisol and insulin levels). It took me a long time to fix my blood sugar issues post mirena, with chromium, diet, progesterone cream, and adrenalstim cream, plus I did NAET (acupuncture method) to treat sugar regulation issues. Get the Mirena out. Your problems will only get worse and take longer to fix. I had mine for a year cause my doctor denied everything until I found this website. best wishes...
