Dying tooth?

Hey there!

Within the last week or so my gums on one side of my mouth have swollen up.
It seems like my wisdom tooth or thats what I think it is, is dying.
It began to change color (brown) from the middle. Is it too late to do anything
or should I go to my dentist and possibly have it pulled?
