I'm pretty familiar with the Windows/Mac formats, I have both. What is probably
happening is that your Windows program doesn't have the proper Video Codec to read the file. Just find out what format he saved the file to and use a different media player like Realone player or Quicktime to open it with. That should work.

If I can be of any help let me know, i do all kinds of conversions like that.
