I live in Denver and when I had my first IUD (Paragard) in for just under a year and wanted it removed I just called up my OB/GYN and they had no problem removing it. I can certainly give you the name of my doctor if you'd like. I can't imagine any doctor telling you they won't remove it. You shouldn't have to make up the reason you want it out either.
