Freshly ground flaxseed or flaxseed oil?

I searched and searched for something that indicated that one of these is better than the other, and finally found someone on the internet that said freshly ground flaxseed is better than flaxseed oil.

Ground flaxseed is much more reasonable than the oil, and take it within 15 minutes of grinding it, but I'm wondering if the oil has something the flaxseed alone doesn't have. Is oil better asorbed than seed? I've been drinking ground flaxseed in water.

I was reading in a book about brains by Ray Sahelian, M.D., this morning, and it was saying vegatarians should take flaxseed oil if they don't want to take fish oil. I take both, not every day, and eat fish fairly often.

Does pre-ground or cooked flaxseed have much nutrietion?

I am wondering if you have any thoughts on which is better.
