You don't need 50 pounds of it. I only bought a small amount. It was from a pet supplier but was food grade. It has a puffer on the top, so i have to dig that out to use it by the spoon.

I had some ants near my back door and used the puffer to puff some powder over the ants. Apparently it kills them by absorbing their bodily fluids, NICE!! so not harmful to us but must not breathe it in.

There are many uses for DE, but if you only ever plan to use it to put some in water, then no point in buying huge amount. Tweet
