One of the warnings of Mirena is that it can cause unusual or prolonged bleeding. I bled for about 6 or 7 weeks straight after I had mine inserted. After that I was just having normal periods.

If your instincts say there is something else going on then my advice would be to have it checked out. Peace of mind is priceless, especially with the knowledge that Mirena causes excessive anxiety. Tweet
