lizbeth, my only point in the post above is that you should take it in moderation. only take the amounts described in the p/b shake recipe. psyllium absorbs something like 40 times its volume in water. it continues to absorb water even in your system. if you are dehydrated at all, it begins to get a bit sluggish. it happened to me last weekend. on friday, i thought i was hurrying things along by drinking 2-3 times as much as i needed and ended up constipated for 2 days.
keep the faith what ever you do. this p/b shake works magic. i haven't felt this cleared out in ages. and yes, the placque does get loosened up eventually and evacuated. it's a bit freaky to take a look and think your system was partially clogged by what you see.
