Re: Triglycerides & Cholesterol - I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

That's interesting information - thanks. I never noticed a sweet smell in terms of urine. My doctor never indicated any problems with my blood Sugar or insulin, although my pancreatic enzymes were slightly elevated at one point (nothing serious).

I know there is a connection between very elevated triglyceride levels and pancreatitis. Cutting out carbs never really did anything for me, as I'm not a big carb fan to begin with (I've got a salt tooth).

I have been eating a packet of instant oatmeal almost daily for about four or five months. I've eaten the oatmeal prior to the flush, as well as made other substantial dietary changes, and they had no effect on my TG's. The only thing that got me results was my flush. Since doing the flush, I've also been mixing a little high fiber cereal (I think its called Fiberall or Fibercom) in with my yogurt, again almost daily. I think reducing meat consumption has had a bigger effect than carb substitution/reduction.

I'm with you on the whole "low carb" fad. I get really annoyed with fad diets, when the fact is people should be looking at diets as a life-long issue, not just a quick fix blip on the radar. It's disturbing that people can't come to grips with the simple facts of proper nutrition, especially when 90% of it is common sense.
