Christianity is a direct offshoot of paganism, and paganism has been well incorporated into christianity, so its a valid discussion. An interesting book to read on this subject is The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop, although his research accuracy has been questioned in recent years, it puts forward some interesting views.

Infinite potential, is however, a concept, rather than a belief system, such as paganism or christianity, but as a concept, it is inclusive of both paganism and christianity.
