Is Iodine enough?

I was just wondering if anyone knows if Iodine alone is enough to treat a long-standing problem with Hashimotos hypothyroid. How long should one give Iodine a chance before deciding to medicate? Sufficiency? I have been on meds before and they have done little for me and I am hoping not to have to go on them again however if I do perhaps the addition of Iodine will help it work better. Tweet
