Re: Gut Flora?????

Recolonization of the human gut microbiota "in vivo" has not been demostrated. Most probiotic strains implant "in vitro" and a few of them have been shown to do it "in vivo". The problem is those which have shown to colonize "in vivo" do it TEMPORARY. They don't create new colonies and one time you stop the intake, their benefits are gone in just weeks. There isn't any study or evidence which can prove they take permanent residence in the human gut. L. Reuteri, LGG, L. Plantarum V-299, and some E. coli strains have colonized the gut "in vivo" but only temporary. It is believed more than 500 different microorganisms live in a normal human gut, but each individual has its own gut flora, like a finger print. I see no way to cure an intestinal candidiasis if you can not recover the good flora. This is a never end war and we don't see the light at the end of the tunel... Sorry for this guys!!! I am in the battle like many of you and I don't want to be taking antifungals for the rest of my life. It is stupid the mainstream medicine don't take care of this Antibiotic side effect and every time you see more people suffering, even a lot of children. It is time to recognize this condition and find proper treatment. Since Nystatin was created, there is not any other drug to treat an intestinal candidiasis.
