Re: Lakanto

Looks interesting. And the site erythritol.net states that it does not feed candida. But I'm looking for sugars that have a prebiotic effect and this one doesn't. At the moment I'm looking into raffinose. The Adelaide Uni mycology lab has it down as "negative assimilation" for every major type of yeast, as does this site: http://www.bioline.org.br/request?cc06012.
But, again, I'm not entirely sure how "assimilation" differs from fermentation. Whoever has filed this patent has some pretty good things to say about raffinose:

"the mechanisms of theanti-candida effect of raffinose are considered to be based on the intestinal flora-improving effect, the inhibitory effect on the adhesion or settlement of a Candida microorganism on a digestive tract and the immune activation effect..."

I haven't checked out his sources yet, but raffinose sweeteners are actually available in stores here, so this is definitely worth my time.
