Re: The $64,000 Question!
I think this demonstrates how successful the medical establishemt has been in brainwashing the public into believing they cannot on their own solve their health problems, but must leave it to "trained professionals".
My own husband has personally witnessed me flushing 4 times (#5 is happening tonight - wish me luck!) and still thinks it's dangerous, risky, and weird, to use his words. He had his gall bladder removed over 20 years ago. He sees nothing dangerous or weird about that. He is a very typical American male.
I don't know where you live, 29919, but in the US we are continuously bombarded by medical propaganda. Every (and I mean EVERY) time I see a doctor on t.v. or see any other form of medical education, this disclaimer inevitably follows: "this advice is not intended to replace medical advice from your health care provider. Please see your doctor...blah blah blah" You can't even drink olive oil and lemon juice without hearing this from someone!!!
I pick on the medical establishment because it's what I enjoy the most, but this is a pervasive problem within the whole of society. Everything must be "left to the professionals" today. You shouldn't work on your car, you shouldn't fix your vcr (without voiding the warranty), you shouldn't write your own will, all you SHOULD do is what you have a government approved and sanctioned certificate to do, whether you actually earned it or just bought it from someone else.
