Flechas and pregnancy

I had a chance to talk with Dr. Flechas regarding an Iodine loading test I took about two months ago. I read a lot of posts about Iodine and pregnancy here and there appeared to be some confusion on how much etc. Just wanted to share what Dr. Flechas told me about Iodine and pregnancy. First, he stated that I should take at least 50 mg of iodine for six months prior and then I could redo the loading test to check for bromine levels and iodine sufficiency. He then reccomends 12.5 mg of iodine during pregnancy and 50 mg of iodine while breastfeeding. I know it's old now but I wonder if the transient hypo Warthog saw in her baby was due to maintaining one to two drops per day through pregnancy and breastfeeding rather than increasing after birth? I plan on talking to Dr. Flechas again after another loading test in 3 or 4 months to ask him why such a big increase after birth. I will share what I find out. Diane
