Really, do just take it with a diet cola. It's the proven route.
As to herbs - I figure people are making the utterly erroneous "herbs=weed, pharms=crack" comparison. Remember how stuff like nightshade or opium is also herbs? Just cause it grows on its own in nature doesn't automatically make it good for you.
In fact, you could argue that the worst (for us, at least) pharmaceuticals out there, Antibiotics , are "herbs" too - well, molds (fungi), not plants, but still quite naturally occurring!!!
Also, unless you're actually brewing loose leaves, what you generally get as "herbs" are still capsules (essentially pharmaceuticals) with extracts (as in made from raw materials in chemical plants). Not that that's a bad thing, unless you have doubts about their safety procedures... But it does mean that most herbs, vitamins, and other supplements are, for all intents and purposes, "pills".
