Mirena concern

I have had the Mirena IUD in place for about 3 years. I've recently been experiencing migraines with aura. No one seems to think they are hormone related, but after reading about Mirena side effects, I'm starting to think differently. It has also been impossible for me to lose any weight since I've had it in. I've seen the neurologist and he wants me to have an MRA/MRI with contrast tomorrow. I'm thinking about just cancelling these tests and call my GYN to just get the Mirena removed and see if headaches improve on their own. My husband has a vasectomy so I have the Mirena because I have PCOS and the irregularity of periods and PMS was horrible and my GYN stated I was too young to have hysterectomy. I don't want to go back to those pre-mirena symptoms either, but the headaches are just debilitating. I was wondering if anyone had any advice.
