Hi Lulu - I have had thin ropy stools and what I read was that the intestine is constricted and the shape of the stool is because of that. When I was taking hemp seed meal for fiber the stools would come out in a long ribbons and I think that because I have sprue (too much fat in my stool) It made it more sticky and hard to pass. Now I use oat bran fiber and the stool width is larger and doesnt stick together so much. This happened more often when I would eat too much meat or oil. I find that strong peppermint tea helps relax the intestine and if you have inflamation then there are a number of herbs such as turmeric which can help. Right now I'm taking Kroeger's Candida #2 for the Candida and it is helping.
