This may be where Meyers got his ideas. Did you read on page 145" "some [patients] taste Iodine soon after it has been applied to the womb."

Dr. Jonathan Wright says he recruited women with painful breasts to have their cervixes painted with Iodine by nurses. And the pain improved within an hour.

Somehow the uterus is a speedway for Iodine distribution.

I love reading this old stuff. So glad you do :)
