CAUSE of liver/cholesterol stones? Please share why..

i'm very curious why these stones form in the liver. They are composed of cholesterol right? If any experienced knowledgeable informed person knows really why they are formed in the liver, by what cause, could you please help me out and share? I've looked around on this site, but can't find anything. i'm sure someone on here knows. thank you!!
