Candida in a drinker

Something I'm wondering...I used to be a heavy drinker for about 5-6 yrs...have cut WAY back in the past 18 months (though not totally,...about 4 beers, 4-5 nights/week , and stopped all hard booze) ...of course we know that alcohol intake provides a perfect food source for candida overgrowth, and stresses the liver...I did take liver supps though, all along. Obviously , though now with this bout of candida, I'm not drinking at all.

Would I then have chronic candida, however after feeding the bacteria so well for those 5 or 6 yrs? And would herbal/homeopathic treatment be enough to now treat this?

I had no idea what candida was back then ,but now with this episode , I look back and realized that all of the symptoms I have now, I also used to have occurrences of back in those yrs, but just chalked it up to being fatigued, bloating from food etc, allergies, stuffy nose/sinus, etc. (Honestly I can even go back to my childhood/teen yrs and realize I had all the classic symptoms)

Thanks so much for the info guys!
