Re: It isn't the motive I question, it is the effect

In response to 129589:

"Tony, you really are belittling yourself attempting to prove something that doesnt exist."

--Please clarify what he is trying to prove that doesn't exist? The benzene or something else?

--Please tell us why it's ok to put someone down by saying they're belittling themself and how you know that about a person you really don't know?

"Your posts are very well written and extremely informative, and I normally respect your opinions and discussions that argue the points that I am stating, but when you lower yourself to this group mentality defensive role, I lose just a little respect for you, as I'm sure many others do."

--It's a putdown to say that he's "lowered himself to this group mentality defensive role." This insinuates that Dquixote can't think for himself, which he clearly can, and he doesn't deserve this put-down and he has been nothing but respectful in his posts.

"Please stay on point,"

--Who is trying to control what people say here?????

"and if I write something that you perceive to be against popular opinion on this forum, just remember. Not everyone in this world is going to agree with you all of the time."

--I think he already knows that. Why do you feel that you need to tell him that?

"That doesnt mean they're trying to cause trouble, it just means that you may not always be right, at least not to everybody."

--I did not sense from Dquixote's posts that he thinks he's always right.
