My first flush, which was unsuccessful, I followed the rules and didn't drink water. Second one, which was successful, I drank water up til my 2 dose of ES. Alot of it. Personally, water didn't negatively affect my flush, and maybe helped. Try one way, if it seems harsh or doesn't work as well, try adding more water up to a point.
