I was hoping you would reply and appreciate you doing so.
And yes I think in my particular case my tongue was coated from a obviously severe vitamin/mineral deficiency, I'm not sure which one(s) since there are several vitamins/minerals in pecans, but zinc would be my guess.
So I believe the severe zinc and possibly other vitamin deficiency was allowing bacteria to overgrowth in my mouth, which caused the thrush.
Of course this is all my case analysis on myself, but I believe:
severe vitamin/mineral deficiency causes bacterial overgrowth which can lead to coated tongue. Whether that coating is in fact thrush is still up for debate in my mind.
Why would I get offended by research? All I was saying in my original post is that I think too many people play doctor on this board and have some over the top suggestions for people, when the solution to the root cause might be something quite simple.
Again I know there are people on here who are very sick and need those solutions, but I don't believe I'm one of them.
I'm meeting with a very well respected functional medicine practitioner this week, it was for my tongue. Even though I have it fixed now, I want to get their views. I'll post back and let you know what she says.
Perhaps I jumped the gun in my initial post, but I was just so excited that the solution to whatever I had on my tongue was something so simple.
