Do CT Scans & ultrasound sometimes miss gall & liver stones?

I had a CT scan back in September of 2004 and it said I have a "questionable small non-radiopaque gallstone in the gallbladder", but the physician who reviewed this said it was not a problem.
The ultrasound found nothing.
For over 5 years I have had serious pain in the region beneath my right the gall/liver region. All this time I have believed the Doctors who said it could not be stones. But maybe it could be and that's what I need to focus on is doing a flush.
Has anybody been through a similar situation where no stones were detected via modern diagnosis technology, but then a series of flushes produced a few or a lot of stones?
