Iodine as an antibiotic

If you were going to use Iodine as an antibiotic, what dose would you take? 50mg 2X per day? Or more?

I am once again cursed with a UTI, for which there is no real medical help available. (All the doctors want to give me Cipro, a very toxic "chemotheraputic antibiotic.") I've tried all the natural things for the last 20 years with very little lasting success, because here I am again in this same position. (As you can tell I am very frustrated.)

Anyways, I happen to have a lot of Lugols in my cabinet (I normally take a small amount daily, like 10mg or so) and I was thinking of trying it for this problem, but don't know how much to take or for how long.

Any advice would be appreciated!
