I too have a hard time with some alcohol now. Alcohol raises cortisol levels which is why it may increase insomnia. If I have more than one drink I have a really hard time sleeping it makes me restless. B complex, NAC and Kombucha will increase your tolerance and help your body detox the poisons out of your body but you need to take all this right before, during or immediately after alcohol consumption.
Dark beers are hard on me and make me feel very sluggish and uncomfortable but lighter mainstream beers don't bother me as much. Highly filtered vodka doesn't really bother me at all.
