Since a lot of poeple with adrenal fatigue are hypoglycemics,and in the long run develop insulin resistance, drinking alcool is like drinking pure sugar: therefore you get a huge spike in blood Sugar that drops quite quickly leading to reactive hypoglycemia.

A normal person would compensate by releasing cortisol and glucagon but with AF you can't: instead you get adrenalin release; hence the adrenergic response: insomnia,heart pounding, etc

If you have a drink never take it in an empty stomach, have some protein with it like nuts, olive with almonds...

Also you should be aware that it might point out to the fact that you are indeed very hypoglycemic...

I actually just realised that I was, and by making the basics nutritional changes(3 meals , 3 snacks) my energy level as well as my sleep have both improved tremendiously...it is almost a miracle!
