This might explain why high meat intake is actually alkaline forming due to the excess ammonia released. Ammonia is a base that increases PH. According to the research excess ammonia increases PH in the intestines.
Looks like it might be possible that with a diet high in animal protein might aggravate gut mucosa due to all the protein metabolites...Ammonia, sulphides etc...
Could be a reason why protein powders cause some bloating...Due to the Excess/rapid release of protein metabolites.
Hmmmm Could explain why high animal protein diets are constipating due to the excess ammonia released which raises Ph in colon/might nuetralize some of the beneficial acids from the flora. If I remember another extract indicated that candida uses ammonia to its advantage to help keep a more alkaline state(buffers antagonistic acids).
This probably explains why when I eat too much animal protein it causes indigestion/inflammation. HCL caps probably help with the alkaline PH due to the excess ammonia. Hmmmm
Seems like carnivores produce more acid than humans do and there gut flora has more ammonia/protein metabolite scavenging ability.
