I cant do red meat or raw veggies either. After using HCL quite a few times it as well does not seem very effective for my digestion of red meat. I think human HCL and lab processed HCL are 2 totally different animals. I actually found DE to be more effective than HCL caps for helping with the occasional red meat meal.
The acids in general can aggravate the candida causing the candida to release stress chemicals. Producing uncomfotrable syptoms. I experienced this with the HCL and bile salts. The bile salts seemed a little more effective than HCL for digestion. Probably because they are more bitter and stimulate more bile than the HCL caps.
If i eat too much red meat the only thing that works is DE to help aborb some of the hard to digest fat. I do much better with low fat chicken+fish.
