2 year old grandson diagnosed with diabetes.
I'm trying to learn the best way to help my grand baby. He'll be 2 in August and was just diagnosed with diabetes. I've read on here that a fluke in the pancreas can be the cause of this. Right before taking him to the ER, my herb lady (who by the way checked his
Sugar level and totally freaked at the number it read) did a reflex test and told us he had parasites. But once the
Sugar level was read it changed over to all about what to do for that. She told us that it was so high we should take him to the ER. Sure enough they med flighted him to Children's Mercy. Now he is monitored every 2 or 3 hours and constantly watched so he doesn't eat when he's not suppose to and absolutely has to eat the right amount of carbs and such. The thought of him living his whole life like this tears at your heart. Although he's been a little trooper that's for sure. So I want to try to cure his condition and not just control it with insulin. I also know that while trying to cure him he is going to have to also stay on the insulin.
Is there a safe way to go about this? I don't want to do more harm to him. That being said, I also know that there is a natural cure and a reason he has diabetes. I also should mention that he was born lactose intolerant. I don't know if that has anything direct or indirect to do with his diabetes. Just thought I should include this information.
Any information on toddler diabetes will help. I thank you all in advance for your suggestions!
