Today is Day 1 of who knows how long. If it goes well I may fast until natural hunger sets in. If it's like in the past then I may not get through the first couple of days! Hopefully this time with a bit more education and purpose under my belt I'll be closer to the former rather than the latter.
I've only done short term fasts before; nothing longer than three days. Lately I've been doing intermittent fasting however. About a month of Fast-5 and a week of Eat Stop Eat.
I'm not really unhealthy or overweight although I'm at the top end of the normal range of the BMI. I've been eating low fat mostly raw vegan for about 20 months now. However in my past I was exposed to a lot of toxins, many of which were self-inflicted I'm ashamed to say. So I think a fast is important for me to do at this time in my life: age 38. I'm just hoping to clean up and rejuvenate. Basically create a clean slate and stave off any disease that may have been unknowingly setting in.
Anyway, just wanted to sign on to the forum and say hello as I may be back looking for support in the near future. Comments and suggestions are appreciated!
