I've always thought it was so silly and destructive to get afraid about eating small amounts. The body doesn't have rigid reactions to a small slip in a fast. Also, low-calorie diets ARE safe, if fasting is safe, since they are like a fast. You have to approach them, and fasting, with respect; and you have to plan and support yourself not to binge afterward; but they are safe. They aren't starvation. "Starvation mode" is a myth. To believe in it is actually a kind of hysteria that results in overeating at times when the body needs to fast or eat very lightly. For all practical purposes, if you have the inclination to fast, you had better do it: to distrust your intuition and stuff yourself is to do a lot of harm.
