What I am unclear about which I hope some people here may be able to clear up is what happens on a fast if nutrient is introduced?
More specifically, when in ketosis say after day 4 of a Water Fast is there a sudden reversal of the body's metabolic state when a small amount of food is introduced?
I have a "fear" or more likely a strong concern when fasting that if I take in any food my body will reverse out of ketosis and then soon after go back into it again and that this is very bad for my body.
Am I wrong, can the body gently move from one mode to another without problems, or can it partially move in and out of ketosis and if so, is this detrimental or is there nothing wrong with that?
Perhaps this is not fully understood or researched?
