E. Histolytica Post-Treatment Update

Hi all,

It's been about 4.5 months since I finished the protocol to eradicate EH.

All my symptoms are pretty much gone and I've been able to gain 13 lbs of muscle back. My stools are always formed, tons of energy (even go to the gyms in the mornings now!), sinuses are clear and very happy.

As the digestive system is healing, I've realized that drinking a ton of water and staying hydrated throughout the day is extremely important. It seems like there's a tendency for some back-up/constipation in the recovery process, so making sure you're hydrated and able to keep the stools moving is important.

EH totally destroys your colon and what I've noticed is that when stool sits in the colon, since it's still not fully healed, it brings on some of the previous symptoms of EH. It's not even remotely close to what EH brought about but it's still pretty interesting. Must take quite sometime for the colon to fully recover but as long as your drinking enough water, you should be OK.

For those in the recovery process, to give you some hope, I just got back from a fabulous week cruise in Alaska and must say, I ate more desert in one week than I have in the previous 4 years. Whenever I used to touch any type of sweets/chocolate/dessert, I would feel absolutely terrible. This was the first time since I finished the medication that I had desserts (with dairy) or dairy and I have to say, it didn't effect me at all! Such a relief, let me tell you. I still don't plan on touching alcohol for quite some time. One step at a time.

Currently, the only thing I'm taking is a probiotic in the morning and evenings but I plan on stopping that after I finish the current bottle.
