About wanting clear "tape"..... what about blister pads?? They are thin, clear, stick very well, stay on for very extended amounts of time, are sterile, can be easily cut to the size and shape you want, and are intended to be left on to promote wound healing, so the adhesives used are less toxic than the usual adhesives on bandaids and similar products.

I use them for blisters (they work great), but also to prevent scars when I get a cut. The blister pads are pretty much exactly the same thing as scar removal pads, they just cost a lot less.

I like the Compeed brand best, but they are only available in Europe so far as I can tell. There are several brands sold in the USA.
