Re: MRI or CT scan for Tapeworms?
Your GP will tell you that
parasites don't exist and that you have mental health issues. It is unlikely they will offer you such a scan, other than ultrasound (which will only show large swellings well). They'll probably just ask for a stool sample (unreliable but may detect tapeworm) and a general blood test (unreliable for parasites, with the only symptom might be slight anaemia or maybe on rare occasions some eosinophilia).
You really need to see an infectious diseases specialist (I am still on a waiting list -- after months of arguing to get them to take me seriously that is).
I actually did have an abdominal CT scan which showed nothing (referred by a gastroenterologist after a gastroscopy showed I had developed a massive hiatus hernia and I also had noticed fluid collecting in by abdomen (ascites?) -- both problems of which had cleared up by the time of CT, after I had consumed massive quantities of seemingly effective albendazole purchased online that is).
At the time of my CT I asked the radiologist if it would show parasites, and he said would not show up such fine details unless intestinal blockage. Perhaps would show very large cysts.
