With my first child there was noone to show me how to make my child latch on. I felt frustrated and unhappy. I learned with later children that when your breast is engorged, you can slowly squeeze around the nipple starting at about the middle of the breast and moving toward the nipple in a circular motion and this would relieve the engorgement and make the nipple easier for the baby to latch on to. Here's a website with pics to help: http://www.breastfeeding.com/helpme/helpme_images_expression.html
MH is right, nothing can substitute for your breast milk. Please keep trying, your baby's health depends on it, and it may not be too late to get the milk flowing in your breasts again.
