I am not a an expert on your direct question, but the underlying question is how to recover the body.
A lot of people, including me, have found a big benefit from aptogens: mainly withania twice/day, licorice tea sipped throughout the day particularly around the time of supposed adrenal highs (waking up) and lows (2pm).
Also, one thing that really helped me when I was totally crashed was valerian. Two at night to sleep, and 1 in the am, and at 2pm or so to let my body recharge. I didn't do much that month or two, but it really did trickle charge the adrenals so I could start recovering.
