yes, I also feel that during the day my body is healing, especially GI tract. It's like I can have a healing fast and a nourishing meal all in one day.

Digesting a meal activates our parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest, it's even called "rest-n-digest" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasympathetic_nervous_system.


During the day we need our sympathetic NS to function, to be productive, alert and energetic. This is the system that is responsible for "fight-or-flight" type of processes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sympathetic_nervous_system.
